Environmental Services

What is the Environmental Division?

The Environmental Division enforces State Sanitary and Environmental Codes, Massachusetts General Laws (housing, sewage disposal systems, restaurants, public pools, bathing beaches, rabies, etc.) and local regulations (wells, rubbish haulers, etc.) in partnership with other State agencies such as the Department of Public Health (DPH) and the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP).

The staff of this Division work directly with the local Boards of Health in the sixteen towns of Nashoba's region, and with the general public to ensure environmental and public health concerns are addressed. Additionally the staff is available in the Town Hall of member communities and at the office in Ayer to assist the public with questions or concerns they may have.
